Dave Shumaker

Pastor Dave grew up as a missionary's  kid in Japan until the age 12.  Returning the U.S. he spent most of his time around the Midwest, including Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. After High School, he attended Baptist Bible College eventually getting an M.Div. from Baptist Bible Seminary.   

He is married to Joanna, his wife and life-partner who has encouraged him throughout his years of both vocational and non-vocational ministry.  Together they raised two children to adulthood.  They now enjoy the fruit of that labor in the form of two adult children, two in-laws, and four grandchildren.  

Dave spent 10 years as an Assistant Professor of Greek and Biblical Studies at his Alma Mater Baptist Bible College.  He has been pastoring at CrossLife since the fall of 2024.  He enjoys working with people in one on one settings, Bible studies, and bringing the Truth of God's Word to people in an understandable and practical way.
